Scouts (aged 10½–14) meet Mondays 7-9pm
Our Scout Troop consists of small units of about 6 Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader.
Here at East Goscote we currently have over 30 scouts in 6 patrols.
Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping.
We aim to hold 4 camps a year, one in each season.
This year our Scout troop went to Camjam 2019, this was a week long jamboree in which Scouts from all over the world showed up to participate in fun activities and challenges. We had 18 Scouts attend for the week and they all had a brilliant time. They participated in a large variety of activities from Scuba diving to inflatables, climbing to fire lighting. They learned a variety of practical skills and mixed with Scouts from many different backgrounds.
Rough Close, May 2019
Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
Climbing, shooting, archery, canoeing, sailing and international experiences are just some of the things we get up to.

Scouts take part in a Balanced Programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit, and helps develop their creative talents.
Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme. Participation rather than meeting set standards is the key approach, and for the Scout who wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a number of Challenges awards and activity badges. We have recently completed the Expedition challenge badge and started work on a series of other challenge badges.
